Have A Happy New Year Everyone

I feel like a bit of Abba coming on…

Happy New Year everyone! It’s been a few days since I last posted and I’m trying to ease myself back into it slowly.

In the mean time I’ve had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and it’s 2013 already.

We spent Christmas as a family at home and the kids were so excited opening their presents on Christmas Day.

We didn’t get any snow but we had everything else that the family Christmas brings with it; eating far too much, watching lots of TV and playing with all the kids’ new toys.

No time to rest on my laurels though as we travelled down to England to spend time with friends to bring in the New Year.

My word, we had a fantastic New Year’s Eve party. Plenty to eat and drink again and Just Dance 4 for the Wii; what a combination!

Happy New Year

There were lots of people all ages there and we even a Dance-off link up by Facetime to another New Year’s party in Wales.

Up until 3 am, the kids woke up at 6 am and then we drove back to Scotland at 10 am. It all finished too quickly. My glass was also a non-alcoholic one on New Year’s Eve because we were driving back. We had a wonderful time.

My wife then travelled back down to England for a conference over the past couple of days and only returned today. A sleepover last night for my son means he’s really tired today and a little grumpy!

It’s been a tiring few days for everyone really. We need another holiday!

So apart from all that, I’ve done very little to my blog or spent any time visiting other blogs and I need to get back to it.

I actually did do some work over the holiday period though, honest.

I’ve been reading Steve Scott’s website with great enthusiasm over the past few weeks and really like the Kindle eBooks he’s producing.

So I got hold of his latest eBook Your First $1000 – How To Start An Online Business That Actually Makes Money and I’m following it by the letter.

If you didn’t get hold of it over the holiday period as a special offer, you can get it by using the (affiliate) links below:

Amazon UK

I’ve set up my first niche website and I’m really excited about it. I’m working through the book and we’ll see what happens!

I’ll report back in a few weeks time when I’ve produced more material and hopefully seen some results.

Did You Have A Happy New Year?

How was your holiday time? Did you get much work done? Do you have any goals or plans for 2013? What do you hope for this year?

    HI Tim

Glad to read you enjoyed Christmas and New year with your family and now back with your niche website. I want to know more about it and will be following that in your upcoming posts.

My New year Wishes to you & to your family.

      Hi Sapna

Happy New Year to you too!

I’m looking forward to getting my new website up and running. There’s not much stuff on it yet so I don’t want to reveal anything just yet :-).

Let’s hope I can make something out of it in 2013. The niche is something I’m really interested in so that’s got to be a start.

I hope you’re having a great weekend Sapna.

Nice to see you back Tim, sounds like you had a great holiday. And yes, sometimes we can use a holiday to rest from the real holiday :) Love the video, Abba was one of my fav groups! Excited to hear more about your new niche website Tim. Hoping 2013 is a wonderful year for you and the family.

    • says

      Thanks Lisa.

I’m sorry I’ve not been over to your blog since before Christmas. I’ve not been online much at all over the holiday period really. And what a great holiday!

I’ll be back into more of a routine from tomorrow as my wife goes back to work. You’ll be sure to see me this week in any case!

I grew up in the late 70s, early 80s and Abba was the group my parents were into. It kind of rubbed off on me too.

I’m looking forward to getting the new website up and running and putting some more material on it. Let’s hope I can make it a success and have something to report back!

I wish you and family a happy and prosperous 2013 Lisa and I look forward to getting to know you more over the coming year.

    Hi Tim,

Happy New Year to you too. It sounds like you’ve had a great time.

I’ve been reading Steve’s blog and books as well, and I am working hard to implement some of his techniques to my blog.

    • says

      Hi Jens

      Happy New Year!

Yes, we had a great time but it was all over too soon.

Great minds think alike! I’m hoping the techniques Steve mentions in his blog and books are going to be something that will help my new niche blog in 2013.

I’m sure we will both have a happy and prosperous 2013.

    • says

      Hi Harvey

Happy New Year and welcome to my blog. It’s great to see you.

I hope the new niche site will be a success and something which I can keep you updated on!

I’m sorry I’ve not responded to your email yet. I will come back to you in the next couple of days.

  4. says

    Hi Tim

    Happy New Year!
It sounds like you had a super holiday season.
Nothing too exciting at my house. Had daughter and gang over for Christmas Eve day for dinner.
Still have not got to putting the decorations away yet, but have intentions of doing it today.

Been taking some online psychology courses since the 31st and not sure where I will go with that but you just never know.
    Glad to see you back.

    • says

      Hi Mary

Happy New Year to you too!

We had a really fantastic holiday season, thank you. Now it’s back to reality and routine. I really need to get around everyone’s blogs and see what they’ve been up to, including yours!

It must have been nice to have your daughter over for dinner. It’s always nice to get together with family at Christmas time.

Sounds like some interesting courses you’ve been doing Mary. Something to take action on in 2013 maybe?

Have a great week Mary and thank you for your comments.

  5. says

    Hi Tim
Sounds like you & your family had a great time over Christmas & New Year!
Now it’s time for all of us to get back to work, I am eager to hear all about your new niche website so keep us posted :)
Here’s to a great 2013 for all of us!
    Have a great week

    • says

      Hi Pauline

We had a blast. It was over too quickly though and now it’s time for reality and routine.

I’m excited about my new website, well, blog really and I’ll spill the beans when I’ve got more material on it!

Here’s wishing you a Happy New Year and let’s make it a good one!

  6. says

    Hey Tim,

Welcome home and so glad to hear that you and the family not only had a wonderful Christmas but a fabulous time ringing in the new year as well. Everyone is safe and sound back at home and time to put our heals back to the grind stone and get going.

I love Steve’s blog, he shares the real deal over there. His Kindle books are fabulous too, I didn’t get my hands on that one yet. Since I’m considering doing a Kindle book myself I went through his book on finding ideas so that I can make sure that what I’m writing about will be what will sell.

I’m excited for you with your niche site and please do keep us up to date on how that’s coming along. See, real case studies are what help people learn and grow as well.

Thank you for sharing and you have an awesome week.

    • says

      Hi Adrienne

We really did have a great Christmas and New Year but it’s definitely time to get back to it, you’re right!

I hope you had a relaxing holiday season too and that your mom and family are well.

I’ve got a few of Steve’s books now. The one you’ve got sounds like a great one too. A Kindle book is something I’d like to do in the future but for now that’s a little beyond my scope, I think!

I’m looking forward to working on my niche site and yes, it’s definitely a case study for sure. I really hope I can make something of it.

Have a fantastic week Adrienne and thank you for your kind comments.

  7. says

Hey Tim, nice to know you had a great Xmas. Mine was good too I just ate too much. Happens every Xmas because I spend half at my parents and the other half at the in-laws and they all get upset if I don’t eat and I just have to please everybody.

New Years was quieter but I did tend to mix a few drinks and paid for it when I got home lol

I’ve got high hopes for 2013. I reckon the niche blog I started last year should come into it’s own and I’ll be working on my latest one to get it off and running this year.

All the best for 2013 mate.

    • says

      Hey Peter

Sounds as though you had a brilliant Christmas. I always end up eating too much and then wishing I hadn’t. This year wasn’t any different :-).

I had very little to drink on New Year’s Eve because I was driving the next day. Will power really was taken to the limit! Ah yes, mixing drinks, I bet that gave you a sore head the next day.

I hope you have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013 mate. Your niche blogs sound interesting and I hope they work well for you this year. I’m hoping mine will get off the ground!

All the best to you and family too Peter.

      • says

Actually no. Once I spewed up my guts I was relatively fine. I don’t think I was actually drunk, at least I didn’t think so, but I got my wife to drive just in case. I reckon if I actually did have too much to drink I wouldn’t have been able to make such a wise decision 😉

        • says

That’s very true and it’s always handy when you’re wife is driving too!

I thought it best that I didn’t drink after 8 pm and let my wife have a few drinks instead. Especially as we had about 5 hours driving to do in the morning.

  8. says

Happy New Year Tim, it’s great to see you had a really good time! It’s really a big joy to have time for the family to really do somethings together forgetting the whole wide world. Mine also was fun. Though we did not travel out of town, we had time to play a few games and also visit friends. In between I was also putting things in place for this year as I really want to start some new projects this year. I have started these things and I’m looking forward to a great time.

    • says

      Hi Chadrack

I’m glad to hear you had a great time over the holiday period. It’s great just to be away from the computer for a while; to play a few games and visit friends sounds perfect!

You sound as though you’ve been busy Chadrack and I hope that 2013 brings you much success.

      Happy New Year.

  9. Theodore Nwangene says

    Happy new year Tim,
I can see you really had lots of fun during the yultide. I also enjoyed myself as i travelled to celebrate with my family.

Its unfortunate that I’ve not done anything on my blog since i travelled on the 21st Dec, i have not been visiting other blogs too as a result, but i thank God for making it possible for us to see the year.

I will like to follow up with your niche site as I’m also planning to create some this year. It pains me that i can’t purchase Scort’s kindle book because of where I am.

I’m also planning my goals for 2013 and will soon publish it on my blog.

    • says

      Happy New Year Theodore!

I’d not really done too much to my blog since Christmas Eve either. Don’t worry about it though; it’s much more important to catch up with family and friends and to celebrate with them.

I’ll keep you updated on the niche site. I’m going to work on it more tonight hopefully. It’s a shame you cannot get hold of Steve’s kindle book. Maybe if you contact him directly on his website you could sort something out?

I’m looking forward to hearing about your goals for 2013 and I wish you a really happy and prosperous year ahead.

  10. says

Hey, Tim – I hadn’t heard this song before and really enjoyed it – thank you! Isn’t it great that Abba’s ‘cool’ these days? I like a lot of their songs but would never have admitted to it a few years ago!

I’m so glad you had such a great family Christmas and a well-deserved break from all this blogging nonsense! I’ve unfortunately had to work all but the bank holidays and my day job’s driving me crazy, but the end is in sight now – counting down to April when I get my freedom. We don’t have kids, but our dogs enjoyed opening their presents (and ours!)

I’m also planning to write a Kindle eBook this year – I have a course called Kindle Ritual, which includes a special WordPress theme designed for creating Kindle books, and I’m dying to get into it – just need a bit more TIME!!!! It’ll be good to compare notes later in the year. Happy writing!

Here’s to health, fun and prosperity in 2013!

    • says

      Hi Sue

I grew up on Abba. My mum was a huge fan and had all of the albums on vinyl (and probably still does)! My dad was into Kenny Rogers which wasn’t really my scene!

Christmas was fantastic and New Year was also great fun. It’s a shame you had to work. In previous years when I was still employed I was in the same position as you. Generally I used to only get the bank holidays or compromise on what holidays I could get.

I bet you can’t wait until April. You’ll have so much more time to do what you want to do and spend time with the dogs!

Wow, a kindle eBook! That’s brilliant Sue. I think that’s a little out of my scope at the minute. I can’t wait to see the end result. Kindle Ritual sounds interesting; I’ll check that out for future reference.

I wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2013 Sue. Let’s definitely make it a fun one!

  11. says

    Hi Tim,

I am with Bill, no snow here. 😉 It sounds like your holidays were wonderful. I don’t know about you, but I am happy they are done. It is time for a normal routine again.

    • says

      Hey Josh

The holidays were great, yes thanks, Josh.

I know what you mean though. I ate far too much and now need to get out the running shoes again. Well, maybe in a few days!

Glad to be back in a routine. Everyone knows where they are then.

      Hey there.

Welcome to my blog and thank you for your comments.

I better get a move on with the niche site. I’ll keep everyone posted with developments though!

Enjoy the rest of your week and come back and visit soon.

  13. Dan Sumner says

Hey Tim, looks like you ha d great time on Christmas day. Very much like my day to be honest. Too much food, toys and sweets :-)

My new year was a lot quieter than yours. In bed by 11, I never even seen the new year lol.

I look forward to hearing about your niche website Tim. I have planned to put more time into my own this year, which I have started to do already :-)

    • says

      Hey Dan

Yes, it sounds like we had a similar Christmas. Great times!

New Year was great too, although it was a slightly non-alcoholic affair for me as we drove back on New Year’s Day. I still managed to do the Conga at 2 am though!

There’s no shame in going to bed early Dan. We usually do too. When the kids get you up at 6 am, there’s really no point in staying up too late.

I don’t know where you find the time to do everything Dan. You must Superman or something :-). I hope your niche sites do well for you mate. I know I need to get more content on mine and get promoting it.

Here’s wishing you and family a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013!

  14. says

    Hi Tim,

Happy New Year to you, Sir. We’ve had more than a few straight days of rain, but I know you can relate 😉

Very interested to see how Steve’s advice pays off for you. Looking forward to hearing about it.

    • says

      Hi Craig

Happy New Year to you too mate!

We’ve had a bit of a dry spell the last few days but it’s only a matter of time before it rains. It’s turning colder over the next few days so we might even get some snow.

I’m working through Steve’s book at the minute and have gone down the Amazon route for monetizing it. I’m just getting some content on there but I’ll certainly keep you posted!

Enjoy the rest of the week Craig and thanks for popping over.

  15. Annie André says

Hey Tim, sounds like you guys had a great holliday.

I’m just now getting back into the swing of things. I had a total overhaul of my site complete with new design and new header. My designer is super tired. (lol, i did it all myself.).

I’ve been reading steve scotts site too. I can’t even keep up with all his books he is putting out. It’s crazy.. I think he is actually getting faster at writing them.

Anyways, here is to the new year. May it be prosperous for you and your family, for you life and your pocket book. !

    • says

      Hey Annie

      Happy New Year.

We definitely had a wonderful holiday. I hope you did too!

I love the new look of your site. Very clean and professional-looking. The new header goes really well with the site too. I’m sure you must be exhausted.

Steve has certainly been trawling out a lot of books recently. I’m guessing that’s what you need to do in the Kindle market to make any kind of return. I do really like the way he writes. I just need to stick with one book and go with it though!

I hope you have a happy, fulfilling and prosperous 2013 Annie! Let’s make it rock!

  16. says

Happy New Year, Tim! Your plans sounded fun but exhausting! I’m glad you had such a wonderful start to 2013. I look forward to seeing what the year has in store for you and your new niche blog!

    • says

      Hey Carolyn

Happy New Year to you too.

We had a great fund during the holidays and I’m struggling to get back into things for various reasons.

I promised myself I would start by writing something every day this year and so far I’ve not done too well on that. The year is young though and since my wife is now back at work, I’m firmly back on daddy duty!

I’m excited about my niche blog. I’m not sure if I can make anything happen with it but I feel very optimistic about it.

      Great to see you Carolyn.

  17. dadblunders says

    Howdy Tim!

Sounds like everyone had a wonderful New Year celebration! I have to ask though who won the Dance Off??? I know you read about Just Dance 4 on my site so did it inspire you to get it? We have had a lot of fun with it here!

You set up a new niche blog? Wow…I need to take a page out of your book and read more about this. You will have to share about how it’s going for sure!!

    • says

      Hey there Aaron

Yes, we certainly had a brilliant New Year! The only thing was I missed out on most of the alcohol. Maybe that was a good thing. No hangover in the morning.

It was the rivals unfortunately that won the Dance Off!

I remember reading about Just Dance 4 on your site and saw how fun it looked but it was our friends who had it for their Wii. We’re considering getting it now though for the Playstation.

I know, a niche blog! Hopefully I’ll find the time to get enough content on it and then do all the other steps I need to follow. I’ll keep you posted on progress though.

      Enjoy the weekend mate.
